Features
Everything the feeder does, and why.
The camera, the solar power system, the feeder design, and the free app. Plain specs, no asterisks.
01 Camera and video
Full HD, tuned for backyards.
The camera records in 1080P Full HD with a 145 degree field of view, wide enough to take in the whole landing tray and the birds waiting on the edge.
- 1080P Full HD live view and recorded clips
- 145 degree field of view covers the full tray
- Optimized for smooth streaming on 2.4GHz home WiFi
- A clip saved for every detected visit

02 Solar and battery
Powered by the roof.
A solar panel is built into the roof and charges the rechargeable battery whenever there is daylight, so the camera keeps running without a trip to the charger.
Give the feeder a spot with some sun on the roof and it looks after itself. In deep shade, or through a dark winter stretch, you can top the battery up manually. The app shows the battery level.
- Solar panel built into the green roof
- Rechargeable battery keeps recording after dark
- Battery level visible in the app
- Manual charging for shaded spots
03 Feeder design
A good feeder before it is a good camera.
The clear seed hopper shows you at a glance when it is time to refill. Seed flows onto a wide green landing tray with drainage, so rain runs off instead of pooling.
The green roof shades the hopper and the camera lens, and the whole feeder mounts to a post, a fence, or a tree. The tray is wide enough for cardinals and jays, not just finches.
- Clear hopper, fill level visible at a glance
- Wide landing tray with room for larger birds
- Drainage keeps seed dry after rain
- Mounts to a post, fence, or tree

04 Weather
Built to stay outside.
The roof overhang shelters the lens and the hopper, the tray drains, and the housing is made for year round outdoor use.
Rain, frost, and summer heat are part of the job. Pick a spot with some daylight on the roof and a little shelter from driving wind.
- Roof overhang shelters the camera lens
- Landing tray drains after rain
- Made for year round outdoor use
05 Motion detection and alerts
Know the moment a bird lands.
When a visitor arrives, the camera records a clip and sends a notification to your phone. Open the live view to watch in real time, or catch up later from the clip library.
Alerts can be turned on or off in the app, so the feeder can be as chatty or as quiet as you like.
- Push notification when a visitor lands
- A clip of every visit, saved in the app
- Live view whenever you want it
- Alerts adjustable in the app

06 Optional AI bird identification
Put a name to the visitor.
Turn on AI bird identification in the app and it suggests the species for each visit. Turn it off and the feeder works exactly the same.
It is a paid option inside the app. Live view, motion alerts, and clips are included with the free VicoHome app and never depend on it.
- Species suggestions for each visit
- Optional, never required for core features
- Switch it on or off whenever you like
